We collect data in two situations only.

Newsletter sign-up. When you subscribe to the ListenNext newsletter, Beehiiv, the platform we use to send it, collects your email address. Providing a first name is optional; if you do, it's used only to personalise the greeting line. We do not collect phone numbers, mailing addresses, payment information, or any other personal data at sign-up.

Site analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to measure page traffic, referral sources, and reading patterns. This data is aggregated, we see things like "300 people read this page last week", and is not linked to any individual's identity.

We do not run advertising networks, sell sponsorships, or share data with third-party marketers. There is no login, no user account, and no payment processing on this site.

Your email address is used for one purpose: sending you the ListenNext newsletter. We do not use it for retargeting ads, pass it to sponsors, or share it with anyone outside of Beehiiv's own infrastructure.

If you provided a first name, it is used only to personalise newsletter emails. It is not displayed publicly, linked to your browsing behaviour, or used in any other context.

Analytics data is used to understand which content is useful and how readers navigate the site. It informs editorial decisions but is never used to build individual profiles or target specific readers.

Three external services are involved in running this site.

Beehiiv, newsletter platform. Stores subscriber email addresses and, if provided, first names. Manages email delivery, open tracking, and unsubscribe processing. Beehiiv's privacy policy.

Google Analytics, site analytics. Receives anonymised usage data via cookies. Google's privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics.

Amazon Associates / Audible, affiliate programme. When you click an affiliate link, Amazon sets a tracking cookie. We receive commission data in aggregate only. Amazon's privacy policy.

We do not use any other third-party services that process personal data.

This site sets two categories of cookies.

Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics. These track sessions and page views in aggregate. They typically persist for up to two years. You can block or delete them through your browser settings.

Affiliate tracking cookies, set by Amazon when you click a link to Audible or Amazon.com. These are Amazon's own cookies, not ours, and are typically active for 24 hours after a click.

We do not set any first-party cookies beyond what Google Analytics requires. There are no login cookies, preference cookies, or advertising cookies originating from this site.

Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. Clicking it removes you from the mailing list immediately.

If you want your subscriber data deleted from Beehiiv's systems entirely, email us at todd@listennext.co with the subject line "Data deletion request" and we will action it within 14 days.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR respectively. The same email address handles those requests.
